Here are a few facts about Scholarships:
- Scholarships are for everyone from 16–96
- Scholarships Canada alone has more than 80, 000 scholarship opportunities worth more than $275,000,000
- There are more than 5 million dollars in scholarships that are never claimed simply because no one has applied
- Never pay for a scholarship application—a true scholarship will never have a fee attached
- You don’t need to be in financial need nor do you need to have saved a small country to be eligible for a scholarship. Did you know there is a scholarship for being tall?
- The scholarship essay is key and should be edited by at least 3 people. Use creativity and honesty to highlight your accomplishments, volunteer/ community experiences, and academic achievements.
- Stake your Claim Apply—The more you apply to, the more chances that you have to secure funding for your education.
Support our Troops Scholarships First Deadline: July 31, 2015
Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is pleased to announce the launch of the new Support Our Troops (SOT) Scholarship Program introduced for the 2015–16 academic year. The SOT Scholarship Program is available to families of currently serving members and veterans.
At this time, 5 full-time Scholarships and 2 part-time scholarships will be awarded annually. For full-time students, the maximum value of the scholarship is $10K, to be split equally over the course of the program, to a maximum of four years. For part-time students, the maximum value of the scholarship is $5K to be split over the course of the program to a maximum of six years. For more details, click here.

- Set up a profile on Scholarships Canada
- Choose at least one scholarship to apply for
- Write your first draft of your scholarship essay
- Apply for at least one scholarship
