Morale is a state of mind. It is steadfastness and courage and hope. —George C. Marshall, U.S. Army General
Whenever staff and volunteers at the MFRC get together to create care packages for our current serving military, I always think of this quote.
Recently, three volunteers and two MFRC employees gathered to put together Canada Day care packages to send to our troops in appreciation for all that they do. The items in these packages were all donated by local businesses and included such items as t-shirts, magazines, books, stationary, red and white candies, and Canadian-themed key chains.
There was no shortage of pride and appreciation for the work that our military troops do for us, and, with the kind hearts and hard-working hands of our volunteers, we were able to put together Canada Day morale packages to send to those members who are serving away from home at this time of the year.
Whenever a military member receives one of our packages, he or she knows that we are thinking of them and appreciate all that they do for us.
Our staff and volunteers put together morale packages every other month. CONFESSION: We’re a little selfish though! Yes, these packages help continue the morale, pride and thoughtfulness that we have for our military members . . . BUT putting a smile on our serving members’ faces also makes us feel good, too!
If you are a local business and would like to donate items to our morale packages, please contact us!
