What does being a Reservist mean to you and your family?
We take great pride in being able to represent our country and serve the public. Also, being a musician means [Daniel] gets to share [his] gift of music at important events like Remembrance Day ceremonies. Honouring our fallen is very important to us.
How many days/month do you work as a Reservist?
Once a week + band events
Tell us about a few challenges about being a military family that you are experiencing or have experienced in the past.
Time away from each other while Daniel is on course or contract. In the end, it always works out, but it can be a challenge.
We’d love to hear about some of the joys you experience being a military family…
The PEI Regiment Band allows for civilians to join in and play, so a big joy for us is playing music together in the brass section.
In your own words, what does it mean to be a military/Veteran family on PEI
It means we get to uphold longstanding traditions and values passed down over the decades and to represent the freedom that our family members fought for.
